FAQ
How does porcelain compare with natural stone

Porcelain is manufactured at extremely high temperatures, creating a dense and uniform surface that resists cracking, chipping, and scratching. Natural stone varies in density and may weaken or fracture over time.
What is the difference between 3 mm, 6 mm, 12 mm, and 20 mm porcelain?

Different thicknesses serve different applications. Our collections include approximately ⅛″ (3 mm) slabs for lightweight surface applications, ¼″ (6 mm) slabs for large-format cladding, ½″ (12 mm) slabs for countertops and other fabricated surfaces, and ¾″ (20 mm) porcelain pavers for outdoor spaces. Always confirm suitability for your specific project.
Which NG collection is right for my project?

NG Stone offers 12 mm porcelain slabs for countertops and statement surfaces. NG Slim provides thin, mesh-backed slabs for wall and façade projects, while NG Tiles offers a range of floor and wall options. NG Performa20 is designed for outdoor paving. Contact our team for help selecting the right collection, thickness, and finish.
Can porcelain be used outdoors?

Yes, suitable porcelain products can be used for outdoor paving, wall cladding, and other exterior applications. Selection depends on the product’s specifications, climate, finish, and installation system. For outdoor walking surfaces, choose a finish appropriate for the expected wet conditions.
How durable are porcelain slabs?

Porcelain slabs are extremely durable and resistant to scratches, chemicals, heat, and impact. They are suitable for high-traffic residential and commercial environments.
Do NG Stone slabs require a specialist fabricator?

We recommend a fabricator experienced with porcelain slabs. Porcelain requires appropriate handling equipment, cutting tools, and fabrication techniques. Your fabricator should review NG Stone’s technical requirements before measuring, cutting, or installing the material.
Can NG Stone slabs be fabricated with sink cutouts and custom edge details?

Sink cutouts and custom edge details can be incorporated into a porcelain countertop design, subject to the slab’s fabrication requirements. Discuss your preferred sink, edge profile, and layout with your fabricator before fabrication so they can confirm suitable details and support.
How are NG Slim mesh-backed slabs installed?

NG Slim should be installed by professionals experienced with thin porcelain panels. Bonded installations require a properly prepared substrate and an adhesive system compatible with the slab’s mesh backing and intended application. Careful handling, adhesive coverage, and joint planning are essential. Exterior applications require a project-specific installation assessment.
What installation systems are available for NG Slim exterior façades?

Potential approaches include direct-bonded cladding and engineered ventilated façade assemblies. Suitability must be confirmed specifically for NG Slim’s thickness, mesh backing, panel size, and project conditions. Contact our team to discuss the proposed system and obtain the relevant technical information before specification.
